Opening concert of Klangspuren Schwaz
Klangspuren 2021. World premieres at the opening concert with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck
Calculated ecstasies awaited the audience at the opening concert of Klangspuren in Schwaz. The festival for contemporary music will take place in 2021 from September 10th to 26th, 2021 and is themed "Transitions". The opening concert was traditionally performed by the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck (TSOI), this time under the baton of the Swiss conductor Titus Engel. The "conducting dervish" ("Deutsche Bühne") will lead the TSOI through a program whose instrumentation with African Batá drums, electric keyboard and electric guitar can be described as unusual.
The program includes the premiere of Jorge Sánchez-Chiong's "Caminando" for orchestra, piano and keyboard, timpani and batá drums. The second work on the opening night is the premiere of Michael Wertmüller's "For Yaron!", a concerto for electric guitar and orchestra. In these new works, both composers resort to complex rhythmic models and abrupt musical changes - calculated ecstasy meets untamed emotions. Recorded on Friday, September 10, 2021. The Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck is playing, conductor: Titus Engel. The soloists: Alfredo Ovalles, keyboard and piano, David Panzl, percussion and batá drums, and Yaron Deutsch, electric guitar.
